Maybe DDL should invest in their own estate by acquiring a viable one to support its molasses needs. It is not the most practical approach but nothing is practical in Guyana. That would still be better than importing all the way from India.

They were given the first opportunity to buy Skeldon.

Bibi, do you know if there is any interest by any group still interested in taking over Skeldon factory?

The Coalition Gov't has been looking for a buyer for Skeldon since in 2015 before they announced any estate closures.  Last I heard they still have not found a buyer.

Thanks. I hope they have patience and wait for a buyer. I am afraid they might start dismantling the factory. Have a Happy new year.

my professor friend which business man will buy that factory maybe if they sell it without the factory

My friend and buddy, anything is possible. I just hope that if that factory is operating, lots of sugar workers from other estates might move up to Skeldon and provide a steady workforce. People need to make a living. Farmers in America are given subsidies to grow beets for sugar production.
