I have to agree.Blacks in Guyana are clannish. They got a good dose from the PNC. More hardship is yet to come but they will endure it as they did for 28 years of dictatorship rule.

Huh...since when ?

You sound like the racist Carib. Blacks in Guyana vote 98 Percent PNC. Do you need more evidence ? We must have ball* to call as spade a spade.

I asked a question and in your eyes i am racist,"Ironic"

Would you mind tell how East Indians vote in Guyana.

They vote for the party that fields candidates who are largely business-oriented and will therefore, in all probability, work for and in the interest of the country as a whole !

Thanks for the response Keff,

from what i gathered majority of East Indians vote PPP,from your post one can assume "the new PPP" changed course from a Workers Party to more business oriented party. For clarification is that so ?

Django, I cannot/will not categorically state that the PPP has changed its philosophical posture because I have neither seen, read nor heard anything that suggests that. I believe, however, that it is fair to say that 1) the political landscape of the country is undoubtedly etched out along ethnic lines and 2) commerce remains ostensibly in the hands of East Indians. Given the distinctly dismal economic track record of the PNC, particularly during the Burnham years, I believe there is a widely held perception among entrepreneurs that the PPP, as they did in the past, will continue to foster an atmosphere that is far more conducive to commerce than any other political party.
