Reply to "IDNYC Finally in Richmond Hill"

This was extracted from a press release from Mayor Office for Immigrant Affairs - MOIA

Hope my email finds you well. As you may have heard, today the Mayor announced some impressive milestones to celebrate the 6-month anniversary of IDNYC. Since the launch of the program in January, over 400,000 New Yorkers now have their IDNYC! Additionally, 50,000 have signed up as organ donors and 30,000 have redeemed their free cultural institution memberships! Commissioner Agarwal summarized the success of IDNYC perfectly “…the response to the ID in New York has been just like the city itself: big, bold and enthusiastic!”

As you may know, IDNYC is the free municipal ID card for all New Yorkers, regardless of background or immigration status. In order to be eligible, applicants must be 14 and older, and live in one of the 5 boroughs, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Bronx, Queens or Staten Island.

IDNYC allows card holders to:

-Access city services and interact with city government with a valid ID accepted by all city agencies, including NYPD!

-Open a bank account at 12 participating financial institutions (that’s more than 70 branches!)

-Redeem entertainment discounts such as $8 movie tickets, 40% of Six Flags tickets and more!

-Use one library card all across New York City’s 3 library systems (Brooklyn Public Library, New York Public Library, and Queens Library)

-Redeem a one-year free membership at 33 cultural institutions ($2100 in savings!)

-honor their veteran status with a special designation, and additional benefits

IDNYC wouldn’t be as successful without community partners like you, thank you!
