Malcolm Hubbard struck a fluent 97 as Zeeburg defeated Cornelia Ida by 136 runs when play in the West Demerara Cricket Association President’s Cup 50-over tournament continued on Sunday last.
Host Zeeburg batted first and managed 242 all out in 32.5 overs. Hubbard got support from Medha Dhanpaul 76 and Michale Mathura 37. Dhaniram Azmudeen claimed 6-54.
Cornelia Ida were bowled out for 106 in 21.5 overs in reply. Naveed Ali made 24 as Mark Jeffers captured 3-22, Vishal Persaud 2-2 and Hubbard 2-13.

At Canal Number Two, Mc Gill Super Stars posted 163 all out in 34.2 overs. Prahalad Singh stroked 65 and Shafiek Deen 19; Keshram Seyhodan snared 4-18 and Anthony Ifill 2-28.
The host were sent packing for 104 all out in 38 overs in reply. Anand Persaud made 20 as Shafeek Deen, Travis Persaud, Abdool Razack and Jagdesh Balgobin picked up two wickets each.
At Joe Vieira Park, Independence Sports Club batted first and got to 466-7 in 50 overs. Safraz Esau struck 108 off 88 balls with seven fours and eight sixes, while Bepaul Bandoo slammed 108 off 38 balls with four fours and 14 sixes and Vivian Beckles 95 from 57 balls with 12 fours and five sixes. Anthony Carrington had 2-61.
All Youths responded with 266 all out in 39 overs. Anthony Carrington scored 69; Ganesh Persaud made 62 and Patrick Edward 57 (7×4, 2×6). Jagnarine Etwaroo bagged 5-46 and Mahendra Dhanpaul 2-25.
At Belle Vue, Chris Ambassador were skittled for 98 in 21 overs, taking first knock. Paul Shby made 17 as Dyal Rajpot snared 4-20 and Safraz Baksh 3-53. Belle Vue were bowled out for 98 in 21 overs. Kerwin Bennett made 28 and Baksh 21. Kevin Paul bagged 6-45and Emmanuel Martin 2-7.
At Meten Meer Zorg, the home team beat Windsor Forest.
