, this latest action is costing the AFC as more members flee.

And if they flee to the PPP thinking that Jagdeo is more democratic and interested in a revision of the constitution, they are either stupid, naïve, or long to be back in the tribe.

They should instead be involved in mobilizing civic society and demanding that urgent attention be placed on revision of the constitution. And that at least a partial revision should be in place prior to the next election. One curbing the powers of the president and holding the president liable in all capacities for all actions that they undertake.  And ensuring that the process of administering the election be removed from anyone nominated by any politician.  A cadre of professionals should be developed to be held responsible for this.

But jumping into the Jagdeo camp means that either people are stupid or dishonest because in none of Jagdeo's screams is there any demand for any revision made to this constitution.  We should remember that he once screamed that Guyana had the most advanced constitution in the English speaking Caribbean.

Ponder on the reasons why Jagdeo claimed his pride in the Burnham constitution!

1. There might be many be many reasons why the AFC supporters leave the AFC, maybe not one single reason, maybe an accumulation until the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back.  Until someone actually say or some reputable poll suggests that people leaving the AFC say they prefer Jagdeo because of his promise  to revise the constitution, this is just speculation on your part.

2. You do know that changing the constitution, especially the significant parts of it demands the agreement of both major parties because of the requirements imposed in the Burnham dictatorshiop constitution. You were blaming Jagdeo and the PPP. Now blame Granger and the PNC.

3. Many thought that they were part of the process of change when they opted for the AfC. Some of the people moved from civic mobilization into the AFC. Instead they got a bunch of self serving liars who desperately hold on the power as conditions force them to eat the political, promises they made to their supporters. So, blame the politicians, especially in this case the Granger government and the AFC.

4. Well, where will you find those non political individuals. This is puerile thinking on your part, especially when you have been ranting about all Indo Guyanese are looking at things through their racial lens and the same might be equally applicable at Afro Guyanese.

5, I thought it one's democratic right to vote for whom so ever the person want to. Classifying  those who move to the PPP as ignorant or stupid and attributing the move as being due to the constitution is poor scholarship, is disrespectful of people's rights to choose and seems to indicate dictatorial tendencies.
