The factories at LBI and Enmore were shut down by the PPP. Planting continued at LBI. The PPP replaced the sugar factory at Enmore with a packaging plant producing high grade sugar.

In 2011, GuySuCo under the People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C) administration, had closed the LBI Sugar Factory however the Corporation had assured that the other operations of the Estate would remain functioning.
They were slated to curtail certain operation and not a closer .

Get your facts straight. A "closer" is a baseball pitcher. Did you protest when the PPP shut down the estate at Diamond and the factories at LBI and Enmore?
I see you ead still hard . No point debating you . I still visit these villages and have families that work in the industry . In fact my neighbour has three trucks contracted to transport sugar workers .

Some additional info for you ... Diamond was close because it’s more cost effective to transport the sugar cane at the back land to LBI for grinding . Many time there wasn’t enough work force at Diamond and LBI had to transport workers to Diamond .
LBI is a floating sugar factory .
