The idea that any of us owe Africans for slavery is bunk. Everyone suffered at the hands of the Brits and there should be no measure of who suffered most.

Unlike other parts of the Americas European colonists rareoy attacked Amerindians and in fact saw them as trading allies and slave catchers.  This being why a Maroon population didn't develop in Guyana as it did in Suriname.  In fact Amerindians sought sanctuary in Guyana as they fled from the Spanish and the Portuguese elsewhere.

To claim that indentures suffered as much as did slaves is pure bunk. Indentures were treated as HUMANS, even in inferior ones who should be exploited.

Slaves were treated as CHATTEL akin to horses.  Once the indentures served their contracts they were free.  I need not tell you that slaves didn't have those rights.

I don't agree that blacks need special ancestral lands.  What they need is regularization of land titles in places where ownership isn't clear.
