She told me that the bunnies we see running all around our homes where we live would not exist because some one would have made a meal of them. People for the most part live in excruciating povery and even in Urban centers where life is good the environment is oppressive and living conditions harsh.
China exists on a hybrid economy. The south is capitalistic and the agency of the economy are friends and family of the central committee or political class. There people eke out a marginal life as a few get rich. China needs growth of around 10 percent yearly to get its people out of poverty in 2030. Most live on live than 2 dollars a day. It cannot maintain that and is at around 7 percent now and that is sustained by absolutely devastating environmental damage as it tries to produce cheep products for the west. Is you need to grasp what china means to freedom, use the Hong Kong Chinese as a measure. They would if they could seceded from the mainland. To that end I blame the British.
Indeed Cuba suffers because of the embargo but the embargo is in place because of its totalitarian political and antagonistic political regime so close to US borders.
