Cross-dresser, accomplice rob Kitty hotel
A man, dressed as a woman, along with four accomplices robbed a Kitty, Georgetown short-time
hotel around 12:20 hrs yesterday.
Kaieteur News was told that the cross dresser and another man approached security guard Mark Reid – who was working at the front desk of Mikel’s Plaza – under the pretence of renting a room.
When he opened the door, three other men rushed in and held up Reid.
Acting Commander of ‘A’ Division, Marlon Chapman said that the employee was robbed of his cellular phone, wrist watch and a small amount of cash.
When this newspaper visited the scene yesterday, one employee was at the hotel who claimed that she was not on duty when the incident transpired.
However, Kaieteur News understands that when the first two persons got into the building, the other three forced their way in and after stripping Reid of his valuables; they tied him and left him on the kitchen floor.
The bandits then ransacked the building while continuously asking the security guard for the location of a safe.
After they failed to locate the safe, they removed a television from a wall in the hotel’s waiting room and stole all the beverages that were in the fridge before escaping.
The entire ordeal was recorded on surveillance camera.
