THE cause of death of 22-year-old Attika Sukhai, whose body was found floating in the Pomeroon River on Sunday morning was given as an incised wound to the neck, while her two-year-old daughter Xolani Sukhai whose body was also in the river died from asphyxiation due to drowning.The Guyana Police Force yesterday released these results of the post-mortem which were performed by Government Pathologist Dr. Nehaul Singh.
However the police in Essequibo who have arrested a suspect as they continue their investigations are not receiving the man’s co-operation.
One police source told the Guyana Chronicle that the woman and the man might have known each other but the man so far has denied this.
