Have a conversation with your new found hero Jagdeo. He destroyed Guysuco, and refused to heed warnings from the EU that the sugar market was dead. He never had a transition plan for those involved in the sugar industry.
Even as every other CARICOM sugar producer either shut down their industries or reduced them Jagdeo attempted to EXPAND the industry. And even that he didn't go after squandering hundreds of millions of dollars (US) on the ill fated Skeldon and on other bailouts and loan guarantees for Guysuco.
I can only wonder why folks like you think that sugar workers should receive consideration that the bauxite workers didn't get. When they were no longer needed they were dismissed with the applicable severance payments. The precedent for sugar workers was set by how the PPP treated those in bauxite!
